Dazzlingly original and formally adventurous, Feldman's hybrid text, replete with archival interventions and ephemera, crosses back and forth between English and French, between the personal and the theoretical, to consider translation as a scholarly practice, as a political act, and as a kind of authorship. Engaging deeply with the work of poet and writer Nathalie Quintane, Feldman's book begins with her translation, from the French into English, of Quintane's story "Stand up" (from Les Années 10, La Fabrique Éditions, 2014).
